The 2010 debut 4-song EP, pressed on a single side with original cover artwork by Lucas Gunn.
"Eugene, Oregon-based band The Blimp transmits a righteous and raucous barrage of proto-punkian stew bubbling from the ceaseless well of mid-70s Ohio (Styrenes, Mirrors, electric eels) all over this one-sided foot-long. Fed on a steady diet of '60s/70s avant-rock skronk and pre-punk noise makers, they bring a sound more kin than derivative. The Blimp aptly channel the artsy, confrontational feel of pre-codified punk on this four-song platter in a collage of guitars screeching with equal dissonance and jazzy melodicism - vocals one part monotone recitation, one part performance art shriek; and percussive free jazz-style piano shards. Yet amidst all the captivating energy and mutated mania lies a band with some real pop know-how.
As sure as red blood boils through me, I never thought I'd heartily dig something called "I Want Good Music With Boobs In My Face" (which on the insert is referenced as "Radio Hit"), but you've got me soaring through the wild blue with ya boys."
-Jeremy Cargill (Shindig!)
